KONPPI-5 Penang

So… I just wrapped up KONPPI-5 in Penang. What a throwback kinda feeling, the kind of event where you’re surrounded by bright ideas, passionate people and that buzz you can’t quite capture in words. I brought along my project, SLAK (Sistem Laporan Aktiviti Kolej). To my surprise (and relief, haha), it walked away with a bronze medal. Not bad at all. This project has been my baby for a while, built to make reporting easier at the college. Nothing fancy at first, just solving a real headache. Seeing it get recognized on a bigger stage felt… good. Real good. The medal? Cool. But the real win was, meeting people who actually get the grind of innovation, swapping ideas that sparked ten more and getting that push to keep evolving SLAK. So yeah, bronze this round. But if you know me, you know I’m not done yet. And Penang? You never

Where’s the Empathy?

I seriously cannot deal with people who live in their own little bubble but still feel confident enough to judge others out loud. Like this one person who commented: “Do secondary school kids even have anxiety? Like how? They have money, parents… what’s missing? Attention? Any clarification? I don’t get it.” Exactly, you don’t get it, and that’s the problem. Just because you never experienced something, doesn’t mean it’s not real for someone else. Trauma doesn’t wait until you’re an adult paying bills and juggling life. Mental illness doesn’t come with a minimum age requirement. And yes, I replied. “I’ve had anxiety since I was a child because of an abusive parent. I only understood it when I got older. Turns out, so many parents are abusive, physically or mentally. People need to read more about psychology and early childhood development. Don’t let yourself grow into someone who lacks sensitivity

It’s Ms. Intan, Not Miss – And Here’s Why That Matters

Recently, I had a classic “facepalm” moment in class. One of my new students, in all innocence, said,“Miss Intan tak kahwin lagi ke?” Now, I don’t blame them. The confusion between Ms. and Miss happens all the time, among students, even among adults. So, let’s clear this up once and for all. The Real Meaning of “Ms.” Ms. (pronounced miz) is a professional title used for women regardless of their marital status. It’s like Mr., you use it because the person is an adult and you respect them. You don’t need to know if they’re married, divorced, single, or just not interested in sharing. Meanwhile: Miss = usually for unmarried women (and often sounds young or casual) Mrs. = for married women So when I go by Ms. Intan, it’s not to hide anything. It’s just my preferred title, short, professional, and neutral. It’s the name I use at school,

First Night with the Duke: I Gave Up at Episode 10

I saw this drama pop up on my feed recently – First Night with the Duke. And I was like… what’s with that title, bro? Sounds like a Wattpad fantasy fever dream. Anyway, because I’m a fan of Taecyeon (don’t judge me), I went ahead and subscribed to Viu just to watch him in this. Taecyeon’s acting is not super serious, kinda goofy, but in a naturally charming way. He’s fun to watch. But sadly… I just couldn’t deal with the storyline. So what’s the drama about? It’s about a modern-day woman who suddenly gets transported into a romantic novel set in Joseon-era Korea. Classic time-slip. She ends up as a side character in the story and needs to figure out how to survive in that world. Of course, she somehow catches the attention of the main male lead, a mysterious, good-looking Duke. And just like that, boom, we’re stuck in a

Saturday Morning TikTok Breakfast: Tok Bilal, Subang Bestari

This morning, right after Subuh, I asked my husband:“So… are we still going for that TikTok breakfast spot?”Because let’s be honest, if we don’t leave early, I’ll end up back in bed watching K-dramas with zero intention of going out. But miracle of miracles, we actually left the house early. Destination: Restoran Tok Bilal, Subang Bestari.Viral on TikTok. East Coast Malaysian breakfast vibes. We arrived around 7:30 AM. A bit too early, they weren’t open yet. So we drove around Subest for a bit just to kill time. It was peaceful and kinda nice seeing Subang that quiet. Once the place opened, I ordered: Kuetiau with sambal kerangSunny-side-up eggNescafe tarik And honestly? Everything was delicious. The sambal kerang was rich, spicy and full of flavor. The Nescafe tarik was creamy and strong, just the way I like it. Totally worth waking up early. They had a full spread too; nasi dagang
